Automation is a key element in the production of radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals. Usually, these processes must take place in protected environments such as hot cells, shielding the operator from radiation. This means that the operator has limited or no access to the actual chemical process, which requires partial or full automation. At FutureChemistry, we have developed and built equipment for automated production of radiopharmaceuticals, both for pre-clinical and clinical use. Our expertise extends beyond unit operations which are standard in this field such as stirring and heating, and also includes operations that are required for harvesting nuclides from irradiated targets and isolation from mixed nuclides in solution.
We can help design and certify your automated equipment. We have in-house capabilities for building prototypes, and we collaborate with several partners for final implementation and market introduction of the equipment.
