About FutureChemistry
FutureChemistry is a boutique consultancy, specializing in designing and building equipment, and validating processes in the radiopharmaceutical industry.
We pride ourselves on offering custom solutions, without any claims on the developed intellectual property and independent from equipment manufacturers.
This allows us to focus on satisfying client requirements, and gives us the freedom to source equipment/components from any supplier, or design and build it in-house.
Team
Pieter Nieuwland, PhD
Managing Director
After receiving his Masters degree in Organic Chemistry, Pieter performed a PhD research project on the Radboud University Nijmegen. Focusing on the implementation of microreactor technology in organic chemistry, this research laid the foundation for FutureChemistry’s IP portfolio.
Currently, Pieter is responsible for all research and development, product improvement and logistics.
Dion van der Born, PhD
Radiochemist
Dion has performed a PhD research project at the VU University Medical Centre. In this project, he has developed a novel methodology to incorporate a fluorine-18 labelled trifluoromethyl (CF3) functional group onto an aromate. This method enables the radiolabelling and biological evaluation of drugs and drug candidates which contain the CF3 group.
As a radiochemist at FutureChemistry, Dion is responsible for the development of radiolabelled compounds and their biological evaluation.
James Hill, PhD
Radiochemist & Business Developer
James received his PhD in the field of Medicinal and Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry at The University of Queensland. Throughout his PhD and postdoc, he gained substantial hands-on experience developing carbon-11 and fluorine-18 tracers for positron emission tomography.
At FutureChemistry, James writes documentation for equipment and process development, performs market analysis, manages collaborations and liaises with (potential) clients.
