FutureChemistry is a boutique consultancy specialising in equipment design, radiochemical process development and production implementation for the radiopharmaceutical industry.

We do not claim the intellectual property developed for a customer and remain independent of equipment manufacturers. This keeps the technical route focused on the customer’s requirements and allows components to be sourced or developed on their merits.

CEO / Principal consultant

Pieter Nieuwland, PhD

With a background in chemistry, Pieter translates small-scale reactions into automated production processes. He has led designs for semi-automated organic, inorganic and radiochemical systems and now focuses on medical-isotope processing and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing.

COO / Radiochemistry consultant

Dion van der Born, PhD

Dion developed novel fluorine-18 radiolabelling methodology during his PhD at VU University Medical Center. At FutureChemistry he leads radiochemical development work and supports the translation of chemistry into controlled production processes.

Business developer

Willem van Winkoop, MSc

Willem combines a biotechnology background with experience in process development and business analysis. He supports business ventures, partnerships and collaborations across the evolving radiopharmaceutical field.

CMC and GMP consultant

Dirk Hinz, PhD

Dirk is an independent CMC and GMP consultant with more than 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical development and quality oversight. His expertise includes external manufacturing, CDMO oversight and radiopharmaceutical development.

Kees has extensive pharmaceutical R&D experience in industry and with regulatory authorities, spanning preclinical and clinical development, regulatory affairs and licensing for small molecules and biotechnology products.

Eric van 't Hooft, PhD

Eric founded and led Nucletron and served on the executive board of Delft Instruments. Although retired from executive functions, he remains an important source of knowledge in medical isotopes and medical technology.

As Managing Director of Waterman Ventures, Peter supports growing businesses in developing and marketing technological innovations. His earlier work at Boston Consulting Group focused on marketing, sales and corporate ventures.

Scope

FutureChemistry develops production capability for radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals. We do not develop medicinal-product candidates, perform biological screening, conduct preclinical programmes or manage clinical development.
